1. "Will I get a response to my advertising straight away?"

Lots of our new clients get a fantastic response to their advertising from the very first month. So we would love to be able to guarantee this for you too. But believe us, anyone that gives you this guarantee is either crossing their fingers or giving your number to family and friends. Why?

Your brand faces its toughest challenge when it's new and unfamiliar to readers. Especially as you don't get enough time to give the assurances most of your customers would like.

But your customers will feel more comfortable with the idea of doing business with you every time your advertising appears. And you will see a response.

Advertising with us is proven to work. How else could we have so many long-term clients?

2. "Who are your typical sponsors?"

A whole range of businesses advertise in our magazine. But they all have one thing in common:

  • Local small businesses and start-ups
  • Sole traders based at home
  • Private schools, hospitals and clinics
  • Local branches of larger organisations

They all want to reach customers from the local community. And that's why advertising in our magazine is particularly effective

3. "Why is it so important to book several months of advertising?"

We make series bookings cheaper for a reason:

You already know that people prefer to buy from a familiar source. That's why the big brands are so successful. And that's why our sponsorships and local events get our magazine picked up at home.

How often do you buy on the spot from someone you've never heard of, especially where there's a familiar alternative in sight?

Our readers are no different. When they decide to buy they'll feel more comfortable with the companies they already know about.

Remind customers about your brand every month and you become familiar. That makes you the safe option when your customers decide to buy

4. "Can I cancel a series of advertising part way through?"

It's understandable that your circumstances may change over the course of a longer series of advertising, so we do allow you to cancel with 30 days notice of our copy deadline.

Bear in mind that because we've made our longer series bookings so much cheaper a cancellation fee may apply if you've cancelled early on

5. "Do I need to book my advertising in advance?"

Our designers put everything in place about a month before each issue's delivery date. That means if we have your advertising ready we can plan the best possible position for you.

And if you book a longer series of advertising we can factor this into our longer term editorial planning.

The earlier you book and supply your advertising, the better we're able to tailor our editorial content and your positioning in support

6. "What if I don’t have any advertising ready?"

Our design team can create your advertising free of charge. And they’re very good at it. Just send us the text and images you want included and we’ll do the rest.

If you want to get the most from your advertising, come along to our free ad workshop. It’s run by a veteran of London’s advertising industry.

You’ll be part of a small focus group, where you can see first-hand how people react to your advertising. And you’ll be shown how the tricks of the trade apply specifically to your business.

You’ll gain the knowledge and experience you need to create your own compelling advertising, or get better results from the designer creating it for you.

Sign up for this: our ad workshop is one morning that could make a big difference to your advertising response

7. "How do I guarantee my advertising will appear in a certain position, or on a certain page?"

You may want to guarantee an especially high profile position early in our magazine. So long as it hasn’t already been taken, you can guarantee a high profile position with an extra 10% booking fee.

Unlike many free magazines, our editorial content is written, designed and positioned specifically to captivate our readers’ attention on every turn of the page.

That means our left-hand pages, facing page-stopping editorial openers, are just as potent as our right-hand pages.

If you think a right-hand edge is worth the extra 10% booking fee nonetheless, let us know as early as possible; space in your most relevant section will be limited

8. "How can I submit editorial content for consideration?"

You may well have a valuable contribution to make to our magazine, especially as an expert in your field.

We're open to publishing editorial content submitted by our sponsors, but it must be engaging and of independent value to our readers. That means our editors will need full editorial control.

Everyone benefits from our editorial vigilance. Promotional guff about companies and their products won't win anyone new customers.

Your independent commentary should engage, inform, and establish your status as an expert along the way. Let our editors know if you have a contribution to make

9. "When will my editorial submissions be considered?"

Our editorial team plans several months ahead. And we have lots of sponsors looking for editorial coverage.

So we’ll often publish articles drawing on several sources, and we'll let you know about these opportunities as they arise.

Any article involving our sponsors takes some serious work to truly engage our readers. Give our editors the time they need and you'll reap the rewards

10. "How and when do I pay for my advertising?"

As a new sponsor we ask you to pay before each issue is printed. You can pay by credit card, cheque, standing order or direct debit, so long as the payment clears before our print date.

If you'd like to negotiate credit terms we'll first need to run a credit check on your company. This can sometimes take a while, so make sure you get the necessary details to us in plenty of time

11. "Can I get cheaper advertising elsewhere?"

Some magazines will offer you advertising at unbelievable prices. But as with most things, you get what you pay for:

The cheaper the advertising is, the more advertising is needed to pay for the magazine. And that means less editorial content. Or even worse, page after page of advertorial content. Why is this so bad?

Well let's be honest, who wants to read this stuff? What's in it for you, the reader?

If you can't find enough quality content in a magazine, you'll soon be sending it on an express monthly trip to the recycling box.

You'll find more genuinely engaging editorial content in our magazine than any other similar magazine. In return, we've won the loyalty and trust of our readers, who give their time and attention to reading it month after month.
